It was Sunday. Brides, their moms, and their girlfriends wandered the booths of “A Formal Affair Bridal Event,” since called “Kevin Rush Entertainment Bridal Show Expo,” meeting vendors and getting ideas for their big day. Among them, an excited Mother of the Groom approached us eagerly with an idea in mind. Aimee had been searching for the perfect way to surprise her son and his fiance, and right away, she knew Evermoore was the key to pulling it off.

There is always at least one unique aspect to the couples we work with, and for Beau and Marilu there were two. The first was that the Beau was following in his father’s steps as a young police officer marrying a cute teacher. And what a cute couple they were! The second unique aspect? Well, Beau’s mother pulled off the surprise she had been searching for – presenting her son and his radiant bride with a video to capture the best day of their lives.

A bright, beautiful morning dawned at Stockdale Country Club, and the jitters of the day were beginning for both Marilu and Beau. Word to the wise: always start with makeup. Marilu did, and Alivia Daniels’ phenomenal job of both makeup and hair created a stunning look for the bride and her bridesmaids. Little Jamiee, looking up to her beautiful aunt, also took part of these special moments, even sitting with Marilu to write a final letter to Beau before the ceremony.

It was beautiful – her Allure Bridals wedding gown from Ladies and Gents Bridal. Overlaid with lace and a gorgeous sash, it made for the most perfect dress on the most perfect day for this bride. Even the rings sparkled with joy for the day (thank you, Farah Jewelry)! A few rooms over, Beau and his buddies were also getting ready. His dad, Greg, was fastening cufflinks and fitting the navy Mr. Tuxedo suit on his son in those last minutes before the first look.

We always know the video is ready when we hit that moment. The one where, watching and editing, we get tears in our eyes and goosebumps on our arms. The one where we watch the couple holding hands with a door between them and see their eager faces, ready as ever to see each other and finally be married for the rest of their life.

As the ceremony began and music played, grandparents and parents were escorted down the aisle, captured in photos by Wendy Horack. Rustic Trendz had set up a simple but elegant arbor, complementing the fragrance and femininity of the flower bouquets, designed by Beau’s mother Aimee. The pathway to their marriage vows was all so beautiful, lined with soft, white rose petals and a gentle breeze and the welling up emotions of the moment when Marilu would gracefully sweep down the aisle on her father’s arm.

The vows always get me, and this was an especially touching one. You couldn’t help but feel the joy in Marilu’s voice as she swore her love to the man before her eyes. And Beau, promising protection and devotion for this woman he had fallen in love with – he, too, couldn’t hold back a few tears. But the best moment came when the couple was pronounced man and wife, and Marilu’s eyebrows raised in anticipation for their first kiss as husband and wife. Less than a second, but a moment Beau is not likely to forget in his memories of the day.

What’s a reception without a dance party entrance? Following their bridal party, the happy couple danced their way in for the Grand Entrance. And the three-tiered cake by De Coeur Bake Shop? Stunning and delicious. A perfect follow-up to the heart-felt speeches of the evening.

But back to the dancing. Donald Glenn revved up that DJ mix and got the whole place hopping with a full dance floor. You know it’s a good time when the DJ himself joins the party! From the sweet father-daughter dance, to the impressively mother-son dance – choreographed by Donald Glenn himself! – and all the in-between free dancing, we can safely say everyone had a great time! Throw in a fun bouquet and garter toss, and the reception was complete.

Beau and Marilu, you two were a wonderful couple to work with. Thanks so much for allowing us to capture your wedding on film – may you enjoy this video and the memories it will bring back as you forever remember the day you said, “I Do.”
