Toothpaste Love

Toothpaste love | www.EvermooreFilms.com

Yes. Love your husband by rolling the toothpaste HIS way. Instead of constantly fighting his quirky personality, embrace it, love it, and learn to cherish it. Someday you may regret not doing this sooner. Find the small ways you can bless him by letting him be him and not trying to make him you or someone else. In just a simple task like rolling the toothpaste, or installing the new roll of toilet paper, or folding his shirts…let him do it his way and–ready for this?–try it his way yourself! No, it might not be your favorite way, or the perfect way. In fact, YES, it might be less efficient, less pretty, or just uncomfortable. But don’t you think just another little way to say “I Love You” would go a million miles with your husband? Well…it does…especially when you add all those little ways up – they become big ways and more miles really fast.

Not sure what your husband prefers or just so used to doing it your own way? Ask him! “Hey, honey, I never stopped to ask, but…how would YOU prefer me to ____fill-in-the-blank____.” After he lifts his jaw off the ground and gives you a big hug…I’m sure he’ll have a few ideas for you. Just take one at a time – you don’t want to completely change yourself into him, but you do want to honor his wishes and not be a selfish monster for the rest of your married life, right? So start today by noticing (or asking) how he rolls the toothpaste tube. Have separate toothpastes? Then try the toilet paper test. Start with one simple thing that he does one way and you do another and try it his way. And maybe later he can try something else your way…but hold your horses and take it one step at a time! Happy rolling!

Final Fitting

Schedule the final fitting close to the wedding date | www.EvermooreFilms.com

One of the first and most exciting appointments a newly engaged bride-to-be schedules is dress shopping! Finding the perfect dress for your wedding day is so fun, so important, and really starts setting the style of your wedding. Is it going to be a princess wedding? A romantic wedding? A boho chic wedding? A themed wedding like Beauty and the Beast or Disney in general? Is it going to be traditional? Modern? Vintage? Country? Oh the possibilities are endless, and going with your mother, mother-in-law, girlfriends, bridesmaids, and entire bridal entourage to the wedding dress shop is such a fun way to begin the wedding festivities! It starts with the dress, but don’t forget it ends with the dress too! Unless you buy a dress straight off the shelf and take it somewhere else to be altered, you usually need to wait months until the dress is sewn and ready to be fitted. A minimum of one fitting is absolutely necessary, but most seamstresses recommend or require two or three! Keep in mind that the last few weeks and especially days before the wedding will be oh so full of all kinds of last minute details, decision, parties, and friends and family stopping by to say hello and send in gifts, so you’ll need to be careful to guard some down-time for your final dress fitting besides time to keep sane and relax! Schedule the final fitting as close as possible to your wedding date, be sure to Sit Down and make sure the dress isn’t too long (the front of the dress not touching the floor so you don’t trip) and of course make sure that you can breathe! Looking for more advice about finding the perfect dress and what to do now that you’ve found it?

“I Really Love You, Honey” | Groom Tip

"I love you and I mean it" Groom tip | www.EvermooreFilms.com

Words are important. Especially our words to our loved ones. How are your words to your wife? Let your words be kind, loving, and patient. Tonight, when you get home, let the first words out of your mouth be, “Honey, I really love you.” Give her a big hug or two, a big kiss or two, and verbally tell her you love her. Don’t let her just guess. Don’t say it just once. Tell her everyday. Start with today.

His Favorite Meal

A sweet way to love your husband this week: by cooking his favorite meal after a hard week at work | www.EvermooreFilms.com

Remember how your wedding coordinator said over and over “It’s all about the details – it’s the little things that count!” Well, there is definitely some truth to that, and right here, with loving your husband, we can definitely apply those words of wisdom! Remember the little things, because sometimes the little things can actually be the big things! Like a meal. If you don’t know your husband’s faaaaavorite meal (or if it’s really that impossible to cook) then ask him for some yummy ideas. Oh, or here’s a good one: create a pinterest board JUST FOR HIM of ideas of meals he likes (not of ones you THINK he should like) but only the things that he really does like. Then, hand over the computer and say something like this, “So, honey, I’ve been thinking. And I would LOVE to keep track of which meals I cook (or should start cooking) are you favorites so that I know how to surprise you in a way that you love when I have time.” And then hand him the computer and say, “So I would love if you could tell me or type in ideas of your favorite meals, browse around, and save the recipes you’d like me to try or that you know you love and then I can have them all ready to go!”

So give it a try! Plan a night this week or next or soon or just be spontaneous when you know he’s going to have a hard week or just had a hard week or day at work and prepare in an extra special way his very favorite (or one of his favorite) foods or meals. Sure, perhaps the next date he could choose where you eat, but you cooking him the meal will make it even more special. Nothing fancy required unless you have time to throw a fresh tablecloth on, light a candle or two, and add some dinner music to the mix, but either way–casual or forma–we’re SURE he’ll appreciate you just thinking about him. Best wishes to a happy husband – let’s see if you can’t out-love his love for you today!

Sweets Upon Sweets

Wedding Guests always love a good sweets table! | www.EvermooreFilms.com

Here’s a fun tip for brides and grooms planning their wedding! Think about your wedding guests. Think about the wedding from their experience. No, the day isn’t all about them, but you do want to be courteous and take care of them because…after, all…they ARE family and friends! Find the balance between going all-out, over-the-top and just plain ignoring and neglecting them. You shouldn’t ignore your guests, but you don’t have to make the day all about impressing them either.

So for today’s wedding day tip, we’d like to suggest a fun way to think about your guests and show them you care about them while at the same time providing some fun and sweets for yourself too! Organize (or hire out) a sweets table! We’ve seen this done ALL KINDS of ways: a sweets table, a trail mix bar, a table of h’ordeuvres…choose your preference, but provide some type of delicious snack for your guests — especially if it’s a long day with a large gap of time for photos or a break in the middle of the reception for sunset photos, or just to keep the party going!

Mitchell & Angela had the sweetest table set up that perfectly matched her gold and pink wedding colors. It was fun, it was whimsical, and it was inviting to the wedding guests. What a sweet way to say thanks as wedding favors, to take a bag home of JUST the goodies you like! And speaking of Mitchell and Angela…well…we just can’t not share their video along with this tip so hop with us back in time by clicking on the link below!

Come Home And… | Groom Tip

Follow our "Love Your Wife" series now that you're a married man! | www.EvermooreFilms.com

You never know which day will be your last. So take time to love and care for the people you love most. Sometimes it’s the little things that go a long, long way. Make sure you take time today to show your wife how much you love her, simply by being thankful for her presence in your life. After work today, go home and give her the biggest smile, kiss, and hug you have to date. Show her by your actions, even without words, that you really love her, really care about her, and are so glad she’s your wife. Take time each day to love your wife and just “be there” for her.
