Attendance Please | Wedding Tip 049 | Evermoore Films | Having a hard time remembering who you invited and who hasn't responded to your RSVPs? Number the back of your invitations to keep up to date.

Attendance is super important when it comes to a wedding. You’ll need to know approximately how many people are coming for several reasons:

  • How many chairs and tables to set out for the reception
  • How many hors d’oeuvres and plates of food to order from the caterer
  • How many wedding favors and other goodies to set out for the guests
  • How much wedding cake to order from the bakery
  • And just general how crowded will the venue be with how many people

When guests don’t respond or when you lose track of who is and isn’t coming, these statistics can be difficult to calculate and may cause some big holes in your planning. Plan ahead, think it out, and stay organized for a well-planned wedding. One fun and easy way to organize yourself is by numbering the back of the invitations.

  • Write out the list of people you’re inviting (hand-written or digitally)
  • Assign a number to each household/address
  • Write or print out the wedding invitations in the same order (enlist some bridesmaids to help if needed!)
  • On the back of each RSVP card, include a small number in the corner
  • When you receive the RSVP cards back in the mail, file them in order and see who’s missing!

Jesse & Vanessa planned a beautiful wedding with the help of Karen from Blu Events Planning & Design. They were thankful for their friends and family who came out to support them on their wedding day – and for the many guests that responded to the invitations, letting Jesse & Vanessa know that they were coming so that everything could be well-planned.
