The Story Behind The Film
When we get the chance we like to grab a few behind the scenes shots during the wedding day. It makes for some fun memories, helps us plan things in advance and look back on how we did in our own performance, and reminds us to stop and have fun on the wedding day with our fellow hard-working vendors! For Riley and Caitlyn’s wedding we showed up for the rehearsal to just check things out, plan for angles, and meet and greet the bridal party and family. We had a great time and loved how everyone was dressed up in Hawaiin attire for their dinner at Coconut Joe’s later that evening.

During the morning preps, we only really managed to get one photo of us grabbing a close-up on the ring shot. Went for a simple texture background and focused on the sparkle of the diamond…wait until you see the final version! But the photographer Linsey grabbed a quick shot of Josh shooting the invitation and ring flat-lay that was so well designed by…Linsey I think (we weren’t there when it was set up and can’t claim to be the source of it’s beautiful design!). Again, our expertise is in filming weddings, not necessarily designing a flat-lay! Perhaps we’ll have to work on that skill someday, but in the meantime we’d prefer to just work with amazing photographers like Linsey! 😉
As a typical rule of thumb we don’t grab our phones to get “fun” shots during the ceremony. No, no, no! That’s the biggest point of pressure in the day to get each shot right, but we do usually snap a quick shot of our camera screens to send to the other videographer(s), which in this case were Mike and Robert, to just check on how everyone is doing once everyone takes their places at the ceremony. And it’s even better when we catch the perfect moment like Caitlyn here giving a great smile during something said from the officiant!
Got a quick shot of Linsey and Sara with the bride and groom during couple time at sunset. The bride was super excited to get this iconic Stockdale Country Club wedding photo of the bride and groom with the row of California palm trees behind, so we couldn’t miss it for anything! After that we took the couple to a beautiful spot by some almond trees and then a lake from the golf course and it made for some amazing footage we can’t wait to share!
