Joni & Friends Wonder Valley Family Retreat was a blast this year! Here’s a slideshow of photos and a few video clips we put together at the end of camp to show all the families, campers, leaders, and STMs.

Day 1 = Sunday | STMs (Short Term Missionaries) and Campers arrive and go through a 24 hour training before campers arrive. They need to know what it’s like to be a person with a disability. At the end of the day, the STMs decorate flags to welcome each family!
Day 2 = Monday | Families are greeted by cheering STMs, each with their personalized flag. Campers meet their STMs and get to know their “buddy” who they’ll be hanging out with all week. The day ended with an ice cream social on the patio by the lake!
Day 3 = Tuesday | The day is scheduled with program time, free time, and all kinds of activities to do, along with all-camp worship in the mornings. Throughout the week, families are can check their “Joy Mail” in their mail boxes in the dining hall. A special campfire is prepared, complete with silly songs and music.
Day 4 = Wednesday | Crazy dress-up day and more fun activities. Programs provided for people of all ages! Parents/caretakes enjoy a date night out with a delicious fancy dinner while the kids have a blast in their own fun activities.
Day 5 = Thursday | Therapy dogs come for a visit and sensory activities available ALL DAY! The women enjoy a special pampering time while the men go out and be men. The day ends with a special Talent Show that campers and STMs have been planning all week
Day 6 = Friday | Time to go home…what a fun retreat! You never know who you’ll meet at Joni & Friends – see you next year!
