Grandparents | Wedding Tip 043 | Evermoore Films | Grandparents play an important role in our lives and when you have a special relationship, be sure to let us know so that we can capture those moments!

For some people, the walk down the aisle is the most precious, teary moment of the day – when the groom sees the bride for the first time. For others, that moment happens at the First Look, a private time between the bride and groom where they stop and take one last breath together before the rest of the day sweeps them away. But for others, the most precious tear-jerker moments are when daddy sees his daughter for the first time and realizes he’s giving her away to another man for good. In Erin’s case, her grandfather was that person.

We were able to catch a beautiful moment between grandpa and granddaughter when he saw her for the first time. It reminded me of the moment when I saw my own grandfather moments before the ceremony began. He was proud, I was thankful he was able to be there, and it was a special moment indeed. As cinematographers it helps to know what relationships are important to you so we can be watching for these precious moments and capture them in a candid, unobtrusive way. We love to tell your story, your REAL story through words, movement, and music to take you back to the emotional day when you said “I Do” to forever.

Think of a special way you can incorporate a loved one of the older generation into your wedding day as a way to thank them for making it possible to be where you are today. After all, if it weren’t for them you would never be here and be getting married! Show your grandmothers and grandfathers a special way of thanks through a gift, some special time, or grateful recognition for who they are and what they’ve done!
